Women in Bern, the capital of Switzerland, raised awareness about the dangers of guns in the home through a street performance during the 16 Days of Activism against Gender Violence on 10 December 2009.

The performance involved women from cfd - The Feminist Peace Organisation

Army-issue Guns at the Heart of Family Violence in Switzerland

According to the University of Lausanne in a study published in January 2010, 76% of the homicide-suicide cases in Switzerland involve firearms, very often a gun kept at home by Swiss army reservists. The study found that Swiss army military guns are often used in family violence, particularly in murder-suicide cases where a male shooter kills a female partner.
