NGO WG: Monthly Action Points for the UN Security Council - September 2010

31 August 2010

As a member of the NGO Working Group on Women, Peace and Security, we are pleased to share the latest Monthly Action Points (MAP) for the UN Security Council.

For September 2010, in which Turkey has the Security Council Presidency, the MAP provides recommendations on country situations such as Afghanistan, DRC, Liberia, Nepal, Sierra Leone and Somalia.

In addition, the MAP highlights the need for women, peace and security issues to be central to the Council's upcoming meeting on international, peace and security, and the importance of finalizing preparations for substantive action on the 10th Anniversary of SCR 1325 in October.

These briefs are designed for Security Council Members, civil society actors, Member States, and UN entities. Please distribute widely.
