Week of Action: International Campaign to Stop Rape & Gender Violence in Conflict

06 May 2012

We are excited to share news from the Nobel Women’s Initiative about the launch of the International Campaign to Stop Rape & Gender Violence in Conflict with a Week of Action from 6–13 May 2012.

As you know, challenges to collecting data on rape in conflict persist, but the numbers are alarming. From Congo and Kenya to Burma and Colombia, every day rape is used as a weapon to humiliate people and tear apart communities. IANSA Women have been working to stop armed violence against women for years, and your participation and experience will be very valuable to this campaign.

The International Campaign to Stop Rape & Gender Violence in Conflict unites us—organisations and individuals—into a powerful and coordinated effort for change, demanding urgent and bold political leadership to prevent rape in conflict, protect civilians and rape survivors, and call for justice for all—including effective prosecution of those responsible.

Help spread the word and connect with the Campaign online during the Week of Action from 6 – 13 May.
